History:
In the middle of spring of the year 762, a blue-eyed cremello filly was born. She was birthed in an old, hollow standing oak with her mother, all quiet except for the sound of the cooling rainfall that embraced the Glenwood. For the first few weeks of the filly’s life, she mostly remained in her cozy, dark oak or stayed glued to her mother’s side as they wandered the mysterious green land. Celestine was fascinated by the world, but didn’t yet know the dangers beyond her mother’s side or beyond the borders of Glenmore. Celestine became a handful after summer came dancing forth. She was always on the move, mostly to a new sight like a beautiful red rose or to another fawnling who was grazing quietly or busy taking care of her own fawn. Her mother always had both eyes sharply pinned on the filly. Otherwise, Celestine would get lost without even realizing there was a such thing as getting lost.
By autumn and winter, Celestine became more aware of some of the dangers the world held, for example, rut. The sounds of the clashing antlers that echoed through the forests sent her running to her mother’s side. She didn’t know what it was, until she saw it for herself. For a while, she feared the fawnlings with the majestic horns, but learned later that they didn’t not hurt young fawnlings. A handsome, dark striped stag named Lord Knox was one of her first encounters with a stag. Him and her mother had been friends for what seemed to her like forever, and with every passing day Celestine became very familiar with the stag, almost to the point where she could consider him as a father.
Spring passed and summer came into view. Celestine began to notice that her mother was in fawn. The idea of a brother or sister thrilled the filly, and through the next autumn and winter, the striped stag seemed to be around more than ever. He would sometimes bring her mother some herbs, or just come to see how she was doing. Lord Knox became one of the little Lady’s highlight of the day.
When spring finally bloomed into view, Celestine knew that her mother was very close to birthing. She was head over heels excited, and one day, her palomino mother left the den to birth closer to the Lord. After hours later, her mother returned with a sister. But Celestine noticed she was different. She was white, with what seemed like blood patches that started from the top of her neck and came down to her rump. Nevertheless, Celestine didn’t know, nor care that she was different. Blodwen was her sister, and there was nothing stopping her to loving and protecting her with everything she had.
When summer had arrived, Celestine and her mother soon realized that Blodwen was almost blind, so making sure to take the easiest route or path was a must. Celestine sometimes found it hard to not run off if she saw or heard something new, for she had to stay with her sister to make sure she didn’t stumble or get herself completely lost. Celestine began to learn that running off wasn’t always an option.
Celestine’s love for her sister flooded her mind to the point where the striped Lord had become a distant memory. But as more days passed, the memories of him began to become more clear again. Ever since the piebald filly was born, Lord Knox was nowhere in sight. And whenever she brought it up to her mother, she always told her that things change, and would give a sad expression after. After a while Celestine quit asking, for she disliked seeing her mother so sad. But the question still lurk her, where did he go?
